Jim,
If you're still looking to get back into trucking you might try Dartco. That's the company division of DART. Check them out at DART.NET . Not A great job but if they will take you on, and you can manage to stick it out for a year, it will get you the recent driving experience that most good companies require.
New here. I'm trying to find assistance to start my own trucking company. I'm currently a company driver not really earning enough to pay my bills. Close to leasing a truck and starting my own business. But that means 3 to 4 years of continuing to just barely eek out a living until my equipment is paid for. At my age not an especially attractive proposition.
I heard about the "federal money retriever" program on the CB. A driver claimed to have gotten a grant to pay for his truck free and clear. I could probably qualify for a loan, sure I can qualify for a lease, but I'm barely keeping up with personal debt as it is. Starting a business loaded with debt right from the start is not the way I'd prefer to go if other options are available.
Today was my first attempt to use the "retriever" program. Still confused by it. If anyone has any advice or guidance it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
